Audition for Australia’s Got Talent

Tuesday, February 5, 2013

We all loved watching Matty Shields, Suzie Q, Toby J and the Pure Pole Angels go through the heats, but do you think you’ve got what it takes to win Australia’s Got Talent by performing a pole dance? Well get your ideas lodged with Bobbi’s Pole Studio in Sydney to see if you can get a spot. The producers of the hit TV show are planning on auditions to start in about 6 weeks time, so that’s mid to late March 2013. They’re looking for that wow factor and apparently a straight up sexy pole...

A Pole is For Life – Not Just for Christmas

Friday, December 28, 2012

Although I’ve used a play on words for the title – in the UK every Christmas the RSPCA had TV ads that said ‘a dog is for life, not jut for Christmas’ – I’d like to make a serious point about setting up poles that you get, whether at Christmas or any other time of year. When you’re excited it’s tempting to get the pole up as quickly as possible and just start swinging, but if you don’t check the safety instructions you can easily fall on your head. So…. no...

Behind a Pole Photo Shoot with Millie Robson

Monday, November 26, 2012

Guest Post by Millie Robson, Pole Dance Photography   I had been wanting to do a pole shoot in a street location for a while, Southbank is a great location because there are so many interesting shaped walls, orginally I just wanted to go down there because they have big plain walls of grey concrete that I wanted to bounce coloured lights off but we ended up going to where all the graffetti was because we weren’t in the way of anyone :) as it is mostly very busy down there! Nico won Mr Pole Fitness UK so...

Talent, Tantrums and Sh!Tting Your Pants at the MPDA Finals

Friday, November 16, 2012

Me… seat… edge… yup, that was how it went for the whole time I was watching the finals of Miss Pole Dance Australia last Saturday night in Sydney. The talent was outstanding, the tricks even more dangerous, a competitor walked off-stage and just before going on-stage someone thought they pooped in their pants! Bobbi’s Pole Studio did another amazing job at hosting this extreme competition, where the best Australian female pole dancers gather to out-dance each other and show us new tricks to aspire...

Fun Yoga Courses to Help Your Pole Dancing

Wednesday, October 24, 2012

It’s no secret that I love yoga about as much as I love pole dancing, hence my combination dubbed POGA, and to support my journey on both beautiful paths I have committed to improving my yoga teaching skills once more. Next month I’ll be travelling to Canberra for what promises to be very full days of yoga fun where I’ll need every spare space in my brain to cram in as much as I can about yoga for children and young adults, acrobatic, partner and community yoga.  I think they describe the course correctly...

iSnap is Back – Pole Dancers Wanted

Monday, October 8, 2012

After such a great time in February, Pole Dance Aus is happy to be at the next iSnap on Sunday – 14th October. We’re looking for pole dancers to come along and be photographed by a host of amateur photographers in a secret central Sydney location. The reason to keep it a secret is because iSnap is like the Amazing Race, where the entrants are given clues to find different photography points.  Don’t worry, as soon as you let us know you’re up for it you’ll find out where to meet us.  Plus...

Where Did the Mini Cube Come From?

Saturday, September 22, 2012

Guest Post by Nadia Shariff   The Mini Cube idea came to life because I am a YouTube addict and I was inspired by watching hand balancing acts, so I had a friend weld me a cube based off of a drawing I made. Once the cube was completed, I started practicing hand balancing and contortion inspired skills with, in, on and around the cube. I loved the look of it but I felt a bit restricted since my handstands are not as great as I’d like them to be. I thought I may use it as a prop...

Introducing POGA – Pole Dance and Yoga Fusion

Friday, September 14, 2012

I have two loves in the world of body movement to music, Yoga and Pole Dance.  So I thought why not join them together? And thus, POGA was born. Someone else may very well have done this combination before, but I haven’t seen or heard of it, so I’m claiming it as my creation for now This is the first time I’ve tried it out on film, but I’m sure there will be much more to come, so keep your eyes peeled.    Read More

Is a fake tan by Pole Physics the answer to the bad summer?

Brig Tan 1

Guest post by Brighdie Chambers   I have to admit I was pretty skeptical when I heard about a gradual tanner for pole dancers moisturisers and fake tans were always a big pole dancing no-no.   I always forget to put fake tan on because I pole dance almost every day and when I come [...]
